I have seen hundreds of damage pics (posted a few of my own) but I have never seen one that looked this bad.

SBT is the worst thing this hobby/industry has. (good thing Rent-a-Center doesn't doo skis)
They use the cheapest parts and assemble them in the cheapest way. (which often ignores the OEM standards...miss-aligned ports and no plating)

-if you bought a complete engine they would gladdly send you another piece of shit at no charge (after $150 shipping and MANY hours of labor)

Welcome to the Hulk. Sorry for your loss.

weve built a ton of motors, most with sbt parts. i have never taken apart a motor that looked this bad. i have had someone say that the front main bearing pin wasnt put in place the right way, the case would still have closed but would be out of alignment. any insite into this would be great!! i race a 951 rx that i built with all sbt parts and i have put that engine throughhell and back and still runs stronger than ever

no premix, came in with the third cylinder tore up because the main bearing on the last cylinder went. customer decided to just do a complete over haul because the price difference wasnt alot different.

SBT does not specify, but the piston pin circlips need to be put in so the sharp edge side faces OUT. When the circlip is manufactured, there is one rounded edge side and one sharp edge side. The rounded edge side can tend to walk out of the groove in the piston easier, the sharp edge digs in and does not come out. I had an SBT manufactured engine loose a circlip and it had about half of the others in wrong. I do not know why they do not specify this in their instructions.
