Cool IC Install is it ok to use water source from Opas?

    Hi All,
I plan to install a IC on a 185, I have the opas blocked off but will like to use that water source, t-up the two 1/2 and make a 1/2 water into IC and 3/4 out via one of the pump shoe spots, is this possible?

Also what will I need to put on the cap that is on the pump shoe so I can use as the water out from IC?
I will have the bleeder line go to the barb on the waterbox, is not used at this time.

    Thanks for the input.

that's a good idea, it should work out nice for you
I believe you should remove/tie up or disable the opas because
they are always going to be in the off power position

Worked great for me a few years back. Just tee the lines together and run it.
You will need a through hull fitting to dump the used water over board.

Yanks, I have had this same setup for many years (almost 200 hours) and works great. You need the Riva plastic OPAS block offs to keep them raised. After the OPAS water T, I sent the water thru 3/4" hose to a strainer, then to the IC, and drilled out a 3/4" exit in the pump shoe and a small one for the IC pisser. Much improved throttle response and acceleration. Obviously, tight working area sucks!

Thanks, I don't have Opas anymore so should be easy, I believe the opas valve has 1/2, did you find a t that was 1/2 in and 3/4 out? i can't seem to find one...
So water out via a 3/4 hull fitting? no issue with water coming back in?

    Thanks for the help
