    Engine Hour Meter

Forgive me for the newbie question but here goes.....

Does the engine hour meter actually track in hours or is there some other type or format is tracks like miles vs nautical miles?? I watch the meter on my RXP and it is nowhere near an hour when it changes.....it's more like 20-30 minutes of use. Uf it is supposed to track 60 min before changing, what can I go to get it back on track??

It def isn't a newb question, I've wondered it as well cuz it def isn't 1:1.

I've been out for 8 solid hrs, but the meter only goes up 4-5hrs. Granted/obviously I was only trolling around for half the time, so maybe it only counts time above XXX rpms/at WOT/some other equation

Thanks for they reply, I was starting to think I was the only one!!! Unfortunately, I seem to have the opposite problem I get one hour for every 30 min of riding so I wonder if it is an RPM thing

This intrigues me even more that we're opposite.

    What's your riding style like?

Mine is all lake riding; 50-60% cruising around (15-40mph), 25% WOT/dicking/spinning/playing around, and the remaining is no-wakes (<5mph)

I too am 100% fresh water lake......
70% is 3/4 throttle dicking, minor spinning and playing
20% WOT runs for about 1000yrds just to feel the power
    10% cruising under 20-30
no wave jumping....since dirt bike crash wife freaks out!!!!

I'll check mine with the CanDoo. This shows number of minutes at each RPM band the ski has run since new. I'll add them up and see if it throws any light on this.
