Blew a trailer tire - question re load rating and weight of skis...

Blew out a trailer tire on the way out the other day. Load range was C which is good for 1300 lbs per tire. I have two skis, 2007 and 2006 GTX on double trailer with storage box. What do these things weigh when full of fuel? What does the trailer weigh? Should I step up to a D rated tire? I need all 3 tires so now is the time.

my guess would be close to a thousand each. And yes D rate radials are the way to go. Etrailer has great deals on them. 1800 lbs each is what I run as for weight rating.

huh! All I know is I run radials from etrailer, d load range. I think 65psi is max pressure. Been great tires. Trailer rides smooth and the overall weight rating is approx. 1850 per tire. I have always been a believer in upgraded tires for many reasons. The higher the load rating the better the sidewall strength, which equals less tire tread sidewall sway which equals more stable trailer. Which equates to less sidewall heat and less likely to blow a tire or have tire deform too much at surface contact. A radial does not 'flat spot" after sitting like a bias ply will as well. For approx. 40 bucks more I'd highly recommend d rate radials for your trailer, my take anyways.
