    Been sitting with ethanol

So I'm helping a friend that has 2 1998 kawi xi sport jet ski's (750cc). They crank and wont start. They have used primarily ethanol since they bought them years ago now but they haven't started them in 2 years and now they wont start. Right off the bat I removed and rebuilt the carbs just because there was no doubt it needed done using ethanol in'em, regardless if it made them run again. It didn't. Now that that is done I've been checking stuff and noticed fuel isn't even getting to the fuel filter (it's empty). im going into the tank tonight but wondered if anyone knows of a common reason for lack of fuel to the filter not to mention the carbs.

The fuel pump needs to be checked as it sounds like the pump diaphragm is not working.
    Check the pulse line too.

Where/what is the pulse line? Do you know where the fuse for the fuel pump is ( have looked for a fuse panel or junction block but haven't found anything? Are fuel pump diaphragms serviceable? Sorry about all the questions. I know nothing about jet skis.

The fuel pump is powered by the cylinder pulses and doesn't require any power like a electric fuel pump, so yea no fuses. The pulse line goes from the crankcase to the carbs. The carbs also have a feed and a return line so make sure you didn't switch them.

The fuel pump can be serviced / repaired if needed.
I believe the fuel pump is part of the carburetor on that model and there should be two carbs and two pumps.

Two carbs, one fuel pump on the rear carb.

Any diaphragms in the carb(s) were replaced and all of the lines are correctly routed. Going to check the pickup in the tank. In cars I've seen the inside of fuel tanks with so much fuel varnish buildup that the pump was glued in and clogged internally to say the least.
