Top rpm 2009 FX HO 1.8L???

    Out on the ski..
    Yesterday top rpm was 5500...
Changed plugs... Oil was a fraction above full line, so took a tad out.

Now it is running about 6800RPM.. 57mph...

Its got an AM prop, ride plate, and intake grate too...
    Any suggestions?

If I pop ski out of water on a wake etc she goes right up to like 7500ish...

Thinking maybe previous owner put too steep of a prop?

If the ski is stock that is too much pitch

15/21 is way too high, need a 13/19 or a 13/18 at most

Ok, so in your opinions, that prop is what's robbing the 1000RPM?

Skis stock, just has a riva ride plate and intake grate.

Is is it worth doing an open air intake and free flow exhaust ?

Trying to figure out if I'm better off spending 250 on a new prop..

or spending a bit more and get an air intake.. exhaust etc so the motor makes the right power to spin my current prop.

In Spain, the best prop for 1.8L NA is Solas 12/18

Air intake and exhaust are not going to give you the missing rpms. GET THE COPRRECT PROP! You will be much happier. Sell that prop (* 14/21) to some one who has supercharged ski. Tommy Jordan
