    Stock ECU

does anyone have a stock ecu for a rxp there not using. that would like to get rid of. i have some software engineers that would like to see if its possible to re-flash the stock ECU'S. so if anyone has one they would like to donate to science your help would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck to them as it's already been tried. The stock ECU has EWOM memory. (write once memory) I assume they do this so that the hours stored on the ECU aren't erasable.

Both the RR and RIVA ECU's have been specifically made by Siemens to have what i think is EEPROM memory. (electrically erasable/programmable read only memory)

While we may not be able to write to the EWOM memory, we can read from that memory in order to get the base hex file, replace the EWOM memory with an EEPROM and write the modified hex file to the new EEPROM. This is why we are looking for a used ECU.

Believe me,, that wasn`t even him typing. There are software engineers at the same company. If anyone can donate one please do as it will benefit us all if successful.

    PS,,it was my idea,,,,hint

If anyone has a stock ECU they can donate to the cause please do.

If no one has a spare ECU, then does anyone have a picture of the inside of the ECU or information on the microcontroller type and memory. If we have the equipment in house to work with the microcontroller, then it might make a good case to pay some $$ for one. We currently have equipment to handle Motorola, Atmel, and a few smaller microcontrollers.
