Thread: Newbie 700 SLT

    Newbie 700 SLT

Hello my name is Kyle. I have a 96 700 SLT. And from my reading it appears either the stator or CDI is bad. It has the no spark issue going on. I was wondering what the best way to test both of these things would be. I was also wondering where to get these things at a good price.

Next on the list after getting it running again would be giving it some horse. What type of upgrades can be made to these engines to make them run a little better. Thanks Kyle.

When I was a newbie over at the "other" site, I would wait for a great post from ph2ocraft. He and his friends have great easy and worthy mods. For my .02....

I would fix the no spark problem first

Then, I would go the wedge, prop, and rideplate route. From then on ask and you will get a lot of great answers.

    good luck.

Hey Fella's thanks for the warm welcome. This is my first ski, I have been riding it since it was new. It was a family ski at the lake house. Then a year ago, or two it quit and the owners didn't have the money to fix it. So I am gonna be picking it up here pretty soon. Then gonna get it up and running again. I will get some pics when I get a chance. I will continue learning so I can be riding asap. Thanks again for the welcome guys.

    Kyle,
I have the same problem on a customers ski, except his is a 97 slt. Once I find out what is wrong I will shout at ya. Also, his battery was junk, he left it in ALL winter outside... now when I hook the charger to it, it wont go past 8 volts...

Now you said it wont fire at anything less than 12v... why? I have a snapon charger set at HI to jump it and still no spark...

Thanks for the help in advance...
