    Newton's Three Laws
    of Motion

    I. Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it.

II. The relationship between an object's mass m, its acceleration a, and the applied force F is F = ma. Acceleration and force are vectors (as indicated by their symbols being displayed in slant bold font); in this law the direction of the force vector is the same as the direction of the acceleration vector.

III. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

If you run in choppy waters, leave the heavier, stock flywheel in place. You'll sustain a higher top speed through the ugly stuff. Also, like Doug (TXPro1200) has mentioned in earlier posts, the lightened flywheels need to be retorqued every 20 hours. Just my $.02

Not ALL lightened flywheels have this requirement.
I've had a lightened PVL on my Matrix for 64 hours, this engine has never had a nut, bolt, screw or washer cracked loose.

    FYI,
My experience on the domestic engines with the RAD aluminum flywheel was a disaster. It was QUICK. Very quick to rev. However after a few extended runs that good 'ol hot front cover issue caused it to swell and eat a stator. The entire inside area of the flywheel was shaved away.

We put a stock one back on and got away from the problem, at hand.

Later, we got the crankshaft runout down to less than stock, and never had another stator or driveshaft failure.
