    slow gp1300r

    Hi, i own a Yamaha gp 1300 04 with 140hours on it.

The problem is that it wont reach any higher speeds then 65mph (gps).

I have done the following mods:
    Ejk fuel kontroller
Riva D-plate and cat temp chip
    Riva intake grate
    Riva pump Seal kit
Riva power filter and removed spark arrestors.
    Riva free flow exhaust
    Jetworks mod

Previous owner changed the impeller so i dont now the pitch

The holeshot is great but it wont go faster then 65mph
    Please help! /rexzo

lots of info you would need to provide
    RPM's
Ride plate ( you didn't mention it so assume its stock)
Just curious why a fuel controller?
    Compression.

Without better reeds, milled head, that's about the right top speed. Most of your mods are for better hole shot. What prop? Ride plate makes big difference on top speed.

I dont know the rpms because i dont got a tachometer yet, the rideplate is stock! Ive got a fuelcontroller because a friends told me i should get one with the mods i have done.
I have not checked the compression yet, i think i am going to do it soon.

From what you have I would say your speed is about right. You dont really have any mods that would make you go faster. Some of the experts on gprs will get on here probably but to me I dont see a need for a fuel controller.

I agree with the others. To this point fuel controller does nothing, and all the MODs you listed are for hole shot. 3 things need for top speed: ride plate. Go ahead & get an R&D with Jim's FF mod. Next, get your stock head milled. Jim can do this as well. You can then actually use your fuel controller. I would guess since you said the hole shot was good that you probably have a 13/19 prop because if you had a14/20 your hole shot wouldn't be good with stock head/ compression (assuming it's stock). 3rd thing is get a14/20 prop or similar.

Honestly I'm not sure. My 1200 was shaved 15 thousandths (inch) and only 2 layers of the 3 piece gasket was utilized when installing. I think normally it's about 20 thousandths on a 1300 but you really need to ask someone else that has done it. If you use the search function you could probably find the info,. If no luck, then contact WFO performance or contact Jim's performance & they can tell you. Again, use the search function and you can find their contact info.

You really don't need a fuel controller yet. Once you get higher compression heads or keyway then yes. You really need to find out the pitch of your prop. A stock gp1300r should be 66-68mph depending on rider.
