    Trim painting?

Hey everybody. I have heard about people painting the ugly trim on their mid 90s polaris but have not been able to find an article about prep work, paints used, leave the trim on the boat...all that stuff. So I guess what I am looking for is just some advice from those that have done it. Thanks!

Just had all the red trim parts from a hurricane painted black. The guy had to cook them to remove contaminants and oils etc... then he said he used an etching primer before paint.

turned out awesome, dont know how long it will last or how durable it will be, but looks awesome!

I used Krylon Fusion paint. I thoroughly wet sanded the trim pieces and then cleaned with acetone. Paint hasn't flaked yet, but will burn off if you bump into docks/boats/other skis. Total cost was about $10 and some time. I wasn't going to spend much cash on my beater ski...

Nope, no primer. Don't think they make a primer in the series of paint.
