    Poll: At what price is GTPP worth it?

    Hi Kawi folks,

    My 15f is getting close to the one-year deadline to buy the GTPP extended warranty. My dealer is offering me a pretty great price, which I won't quote here (for fear of getting them in trouble). I'm not the sort of person who buys extended warranties, but I'm thinking about it because of the price and how much I ride…not to mention I plan on keeping this ski for at least 5 years. I don't abuse my machines and keep up with basic maintenance, but I don't ride like a senior citizen, either...

    I want to do a little poll of owners. Could you answer the following for me:

    1. What year and model Kawasaki Jet Ski do you have?
    2. Would you ever buy an extended warranty for it, if you had the option?
    3. How much is the most you'd spend on GTPP for 5 total years of coverage since new?
    4. If you have the GTPP now, have you ever had trouble getting warranty coverage?

    I guess I'll go first-
    1. 2013 STX-15f
    2. Maybe
    3. $750
    4. N/A

    1- a few skis
    2- YES
    3- I would pay up to retail price. Need it one time and you saved money.
    4- of everything I have owned, Kawasaki's GTPP has been the best of any warranty.

    1. 07 250X and 09 260X;
    2. Yes, all day every day!
    3. Id pay up to full retail but try and negotiate for discount;
    4. Ive had several warranty claims handled through 2 different dealerships, some involving extensive investigation and motor rebuilds. Kawi has backed its GTPP product 100% to my satisfaction. Its truly been one of the best investments Ive ever made. My recommendation is to keep good records of everything including oil changes and read the terms of the GTPP carefully so you know what is and is not covered.

    Sadly, my GTPP coverage on 260 just expired so I feel like Im in full monty mode as it were.

    even at $1000 its cheap

    consider a pump is $1000 to replace, an engine is $7500, a cylinder head is $2000

    I ended up getting it.
    The program has changed its name and a couple other things. For future searches, I'll link to another relevant thread:
