    Cooling issue on FZR

Had my FZR out this weekend and noticed water was not flowing out of the left front cooling outlet. Occasionally, this will happen to me while flushing on the hose when water pressure is poor, but I have never had it happen to me out on the water. The ski ran fine and no overheating alarms at all. I felt the water with my hand and it did feel hotter than normal, but not scolding by any means. I ran the ski like I normally do and put a good 2-3 hours on it under varying conditions. Any thoughts on what might cause this? I am going to start investigating tonight.

Take a coat hanger wire and run it up the outlet fitting , to be sure the hole is open. Usualy dirt dobbers (small insect) build a nest clogging the hole when the ski is stored. Tommy Jordan

I've seen mud daubers plug the exhaust on lawn equipment. Take a dab of Vaseline and cover the holes. Clears itself on start up.

same thing happened on my buddies sho 2 weeks ago. no water coming out of the right pisser on left side. The hose off the top of the oil cooler collapsed and kinked. When we removed it. it regained it's shape, but, it was softer where the kink was. So we flipped the hose around and attached the kinked side to the pisser since it's a straight exit and no bend.

Anyway, even after swapping around the hose. There still was no water flow out of top of cooler. Must be a clog. I disconnected the hose from pisser side again and attached the flush hose to it and backflushed it to the pump strainer for about 30 seconds while ski was running. It started flowing again after that and has been fine since.

Took the hose off from the oil cooler and pumped water through it. Looks like some insects got in there and started to make a little nest!! Running fine now. Thanks guys . Pic below of what clogged it and mechanix gloves for size comparison.

    Cooling issue on FZR

All kinds of things get in there, once a lizard laid eggs in the pisser.
