Did my seadoo just accelerate on its own?? YIKES

High folks, very very long time lurker here. I just love these forums. So I have a 1999 challanger 1800 that I've happily owned for 12 years, not any major issues. I have a 2012 GTR 215 with 29 hours.

We only go to the cottage for 3 weeks in the summer so we don't ride our watercraft too hard.

To the he scary part. I'm driving my GTR around for about 40 mins, I do a fast run by the. Outage ( to show off) and then turn towards the dock (easing off gas). I take my hand off the throttle, glide towards the dock, and then tap the break to put it in neutral. 1 second after I do that it starts accelerating right towards the dock. I panic (apparently I'll never be an action hero), but somehow stop it (I think I hit and held the break down).

has anyone heard of this? Did this really happen?

    It's normal.

Yeah I've experienced similar annoyances as well. If you're coming off plane gliding towards a dock don't steer too much or it will aggressively apply the throttle. If anyone is aware of anyway to turn this off I'd love to hear about it.

Ok that makes sense thanks all so much for taking the time to respond. Thought I was losing my mind.

OTAS will turn off if you bump the throttle, or turn the bars slightly back off of it's max limit. If you want to disable it all together, you can remove the magnetic sensor on the steering column (or remove a few wires from the ecu B connection).

The easiest way is to just learn how to use it!
