    Bad bounce problem. Any suggestions?

A friend of mine just got a 1992 650 LX. It runs fine and has a new stainless prop but he can,t get it to quit porpoising. Any answers or ride plates to correct this?

I not sure if anybody made any longer ride plates for this ski or not. If they did, they don't make them anymore. I would put some shims between the ride plate and hull on the two rear ride plate bolt holes.

Correct me if I'M wrong ... the 92' 650 could be wr and or a vxr style hull .. I have a yami vxr pro plate unused for a vxr... an ebay purchase gone wrong (go figure..) I't's a funky magenta color PM ME IF INTERESTED ... there are once in awhile, longer aftermarket wr and vxr plates on ebay .. type PLATE . just as sleeper says, try to shim that plate ... IT may also HAVE the REAR ADJUSTABLE BUSHINGS on the o/e plate

The LX model he is talking about is the WR hull. Like the WR500's, the first sit down hull Yamaha produced.

Nickle, you have to extend the ride plate rear to get that ski to stop porposing, the intake area is in the same line as the rest of the hull, if you get too much lift (which can be done by just one rider)the intake sucks air, he needs the protec extended rideplate to stop this, or he can make an extension for the ride polate he has, either way ,you have also to get the elusive Jet Dynamics intake grate, it almost completly stops the sliding of the hull and the slipping due to cavitation, ....

JEff, I'm breaking down and ordering that intake... have a call in to Glen at Jet Dynamics ,His site has them still listed (hope its available)..The Ocean Pro is also a long plate, it definetly helps tracking and controls bounce, thou the protec is possibly the faster plate, being skegs are not draging in the water.

I'm reading this as being, with his grate you'll get plenty of water into the pump and with the protec plate ,this comb will let you ride at a better angle of attack.
