    Thread Inserts for hull

    http://www.catalogds.com/db/service?...thermoplastics

Eventually taking the screws in and out all the time, they arent going to want to tighten back into the hull. Would it be a good idea to use thread inserts and get all new hardware? Wouldn't have to use them on the sides where the nut is used.

    Any opinions on this?

    I think its a good thought !
If someone aftermarket had the means
to make stripes already formed with nuts lined up to hull holes
then on the end of strip screws with nuts to secure the strip to mounting locations .

The inserts you r showing im not sure how they would work or how you could get them locked into place .

Maybe add inserts for the wishlist for 15 ?

For those type of inserts....usually u would drill a small tight hole into what u are putting the insert into. There is a special tool to squeeze the insert into the hole and it will never come out. Prolly sounds more of a pia that thought out to be..

I'm just thinking of alternatives for when the screws wont tighten into the polytec anymore

I have never heard of that

If they expand will they be ok in the plastic ?

I have often thought about the screws not getting tight with all the abuse it gets from the water .
reminds me of the yamaha video dogging all the sparks .

I just had a thought. what about some kind of clip with the tread in it

Its still weird for me not to be able to see the motor
A season vetern always lifts the seat and checks the motor before a journey

Brp would had a long good think about no access to engine bay under the seat ...

I been working , building Seadoos for over 20years and the Spark has been my most reliable ski ever...

Still strange not able to check before a ride ...
