95 sl 650 std power question

so she runs good got her up to 47.6 mph at 54ft elevation but the weird part is if i have the handle bars straight on its good but if you turn them to the right a little bit she will speed up another 8mph if you go left it'll slow down 5ish mph and out of the hole if i have it hard over right i can feel the motor kick the rev's up and she'll start to dig in a bit but hard over left it just kinda seems to dog.. got any ideas?

There are some vacuum tubes that draw water out of the bilge on the right side of the pump. When the bilge is dry, those tubes just suck air through the jet pump, creating a slight inefficiency in the pump. It's possible when you are leaning right, those tubes are being filled with bilge water and giving you a little more boost.

theres never any water in the bilge though..?

what are you using to measure speed? The more revs to the right less to the left is normal for all watercraft, its the way the water is forced into the intake.

When it speeds up and slows down is the engine RPM also changing?
That is, engine RPM increases when speed increases and engine RPM goes down when speed decreases, all while holding the throttle lever steady?

Or is the jet pump thrust reducing without the engine RPM also reducing?
