How do I know when to fill that little oil nipple in the engine compartment of my 02 gpr? What do I use to fill it?

I would ASSUME that you are talking about the grease zerk for the intermediate shaft. Is this the one that is attached to one of the head bolts on the rear?
If so you just need a couple of pumps of grease in it per year.

A good marine grade grease.

It needs to be filled with marine (Yamaha?) grease at the first 10 hour service. The tube to the pump is empty, and by the book requires 30 grams of grease pumped in SLOWLY, so you don't blow a seal.
If you don't have a decent scale to measure the amount of grease your gun lets out with each stroke it's probably about one gram of grease, so of course you will need 30 strokes.
Again by the book that comeswith GPR it will tell you to pump 10 grams into it every 100 hours or twice per year.
When all else fails-----read the instructions. ie. The books that come with all Yamaha ski's.
