Missing coolant question
New OEM head gasket & head resurfaced. OEM bolts torqued to spec. Compression 140's, runs strong...
After a tank of gas and hard riding the coolant level goes from Full to Min. It's not my ski, but he tops it off with water not coolant. I figured after a few BURPS and a few top offs it's good but it keeps dropping off.
Where does it go?
If coolant was topped off with water OFTEN would the water evaporate so much that after a tank of gas on a heavy finger in 105+ temps the level is down from Full to the Min line? I'm thinking it has to be a 90% water mix by now. Or is the water evaporating and the actual coolant is on the low side.. Did that make sense?
There's no leaks, not blowing out the bottle (water bottle attached to overflow line to confirm) and not in the oil & no coolant smell at all.

Try and drain and refill with 50 50 coolant and then see.

It was filled with 50/50. 1 Gal. Burped after initial run & then topped with water from there on..

when you filled it up did you take the drain bolt out of the rideplate? Always air in there when filling the system.

the coolant cap could be crap and could be letting coolant bypass out into the hull. maybe add a catch can to the dump hose and see if its going there.

I know it takes 1.5 gals to fill, No smell at all.
