I bought it brand new and have never used anything but premium. It's always ran perfectly.

Possibly from the dipstick, you might have riding for a while that day with the dipstick out ,but Did you check around the oil filter, stick your hand around there under the intake manifold ,was that area dry when you finished your oil change the day before, possibly filter got loose from impact...

Your not using the R&D air filter blow off valves are you?

It's bone stock and the oil filter is on very tight. There was quite a bit of oil on the bottom of the hull and all over the engine and the sides of the hull. A loose oil filter probably wouldn't get oil all over the engine and sides of the hull. If it was blood it would have looked like a crime scene with splatter everywhere.

K..got the impression it was all on the bottom of the hull...

Put oil back to normal level, you can zip tie the stick so it stays in place, take her out again and see how it goes ..I'm racing 3 offshore races next month and will be doing just that with zip ties..

There was at least a quart or so at the bottom of the hull but also sprayed all over the top of the engine and sides. Thanks!

If you are needing to leave it zip tied you may have another issue. I would not recommend doing it right now unless you do a compression test. If you are getting blow by it would cause the stick to come out. If you secure the stick you can not know if you have an issue unless you check compression. Leave it alone for a few more rides and if it stays in you can secure it then for a piece of mind but you must determine why it came out.

Your excessive crank case pressure could be from something as simple as a catch can clog up to rings or a bearing failure. The two experiences I have seen this happen was a hole in a piston and a spun connecting rod bearing. This is why I say find the cause. It could be simple or it could put a hole in your block. I know a bit extreme but quite possible.
