How Can I make my STX-15F Stay Hooked in Turns?

I'm not a racer but someone who likes to turn fast all day, especially in the rough. I've installed Worx sponsons, an R+D intake grate, and a Shredmaster ride plate. The problem is that the boat hops out of the water in the slightest amount of wave action. It acts like a hull that has the trim all the way up. I can see that the plate has a lot of rocker to it and it does give a substantial increase in top speed but that is not what I want. I am obviously not experienced in setting up hulls but I know this hull can be made to rail corners. What should I do next?

when i had my stxr (same hull) i ran beach house sponsons in the all the way down and forward position, the r&d intake grate and ride plate, for that hull i felt it gave me the best combination of handling in all water conditions

Shim the rear of the plate down and shim the front of the grate down. Try a stxr rideplate or the r&d.

Shimming the plate sounds like a good idea. I hadn't thought about shimming the grate. There's nothing special in my mind about the Shredmaster-it's just what I could find when I was looking for a plate last year. It looks like a testing day or two is in order!

You would be surprised how much the front of the hull impacts the handling.

The grate would only need a slight shim to make a huge difference.

I can agree with Sean's recommendations. What a difference it made on mine when Sean played with it.

What was your increase in speed when you installed the plate? I had a r&d on my 08 and liked it alot.

A bit expensive but this might be the trick ...

    Riva - 15F Auto-Trim Nozzle Kit

Combination reduction and steering nozzles feature interchangeable venturi rings that allow fine tuning to match modified engines with pump. Auto-trim feature improves turning and reduces rider fatigue by automatically dropping steering nozzle when bars are turned. Optional manual trim can be utilized with the addition of trim lever and cable (sold separately) to improve hole shot. Nozzles are powder coated and venturi rings anodized to prevent corrosion.

I dont think its made anymore. Riva killed off all their stx parts a long time ago.

best thing ive found without changing anything is to back right off just before you start the turn to drop the nose then throttle, turn and it stays down for the turn, don't try force the ski down towards the inside of the turn either
