    Riva intake upgrade

I am getting a list together of parts to put on the 260 over the winter months I was wondering if it's gonna be worth it to do the riva upgrade to the intake manifold is it a good bang for the buck mod on the stock ecu?

sure, the spark arrester is just more government junk
it has to help air flow to remove it

I heard its a big pain in ass. The actual flame arrestor filter doesn't just slide out and your done. Gotta break it apart and dig it out with long pliars making sure u get every piece. I also plan on doing this mod in the near future. Supposed to be good for 1lb of boost.

The RIVA style makes you drill a hole, which needs to be done just right (pre-drill a small holes first)...Once done the FA pops right out...

The FREE method takes some time, elbow grease, and a beer .....Trick is to take a long flat blade screw driver, preferably one that has a 12" long shank, and grind a notch in the flat end...You use it, along with a hammer, to chisel your way down the center of the FA. Its center has a round, perforated aluminum tube...Long needle nose pliers, and you can pull it out the TB opening...

Take your time, and its worth it...atleast 1psi gain, better throttle response also....

For me.... it takes way more than "a" beer to get them out

However..... the beer is WAY cheaper than that unneeded Riva "upgrade" kit

I'd question if you get any increase in pressure, more that you don't get any decrease. I log my MAP pressures and with a newly rebuilt charger & new Gen2, I get EXACTLY 11psi at WOT, just as the stock SC should be.

Removing any air restriction, especially intake side, can only improve performance. But for me, I can't say I felt a day and night difference, but good to know it's gone.

I used Riva kit and whilst pricey, it was simple, quick and leaves you with a fancy billet end plug for some engine bay bling. Plus you get a nipple to use for a vacuum ref line(boost meter, rrfpr etc etc)
