What's the best lock for trailer latch?

Looking for the best trailer latch lock. Everything I've found is very poor quality. I'm looking for ideas or something secure that is not very accessible to a bolt cutter on the latch lever.

i went with a kit from reese. got it at academy and it had all 3 parts keyed the same. one for the tow hitch on the car, another for the trailer ball and one for the latch. i think it was around $40.

for just a single lock for the latch that will slow someone down if they are trying to take it..

I had one of those, fell apart. Master lock now. Here's a tip for all. Check the latch adjustment and then put a spot weld on threads. No matter if it's locked a theft can always loosen the nut and lift off the ball. I spot weld the mounting hardware on the hitch assy too. The ball I red loctite the nut and tighten with a 3/4" impact gun.

I'm guessing you mean "NOT" very accessible.

I'm in the market for something secure as well.

For the coupler the Megahitch vault is the best and cost $99.95. But I haven't seen anything great for the latch. Everything I've seen can be easier picked or pryed off.

This is a pretty good one. Nice thing is you can still use a ball lock and a lever lock underneath this and it also covers the bolts for the hitch so they can't simply just unbolt the receiver. Every lock can be defeated somehow. My philosophy is to have as many as possible so it takes them more time.

I've seen where someone took a old sawed off tongue off a trailer and ratchet strapped it to the locked skis tongue and off they went...I would suggest a big chain through the trailer wheels and to the ski if possible

Get a construction grade chain and go through the trailer and through the hitch then use a really good lock. This is what I do

All those chains can be easily broken with a large bolt cutter.

There is only one chain I know of that can't and it's the Almax Immobiliser chain sold in Europe.

There isn't much my cut off wheel can't go through...objective here is to make it difficult as possible also might want to get a tarp to keep it out of sight. Short of locking it in your garage out of sight it's the best you can do.
