p0116 check engine light
I have a 2007 rxt. I am getting a p0116- engine temp sensor faulty. I can cruise around at 5,000 rpm just about all day long but at 5,500 after a few seconds the check engine flashes and the code p0116. Ski does not go into limp mode just flashes code and check engine light. If I pull the key out and restart the light and code are gone until I go over 5500 rpm for a few seconds. I have changed sensor 4 times and still the same results and I have even put one of the sensors into the waterbox and I get no exhaust codes. Thermostat does not seem to be stuck, all coolant hoses get warm. Anyone have any ideas or ever had the same issue?

I had the same code on my 07' RXP last summers. I changed the coolant engine sensor, which I believe was a $20 part and took me my 5 minutes to do, and all was good ! Easy fix ! I buddy of mine, had the same issues and it replaced the sensor several times and turned out to be a coolant blockage

Thermostat hoses have not been off lately. Ill have to check for a coolant blockage. Maybe the thermostat isn't opening fully? ill have to see what my engine temps r at cruising speeds. thanks for the help!
