Motor does not turn off after removing the Lanyard

    Hello,

This is my first time working on a PWC. I have no previous experience. Also, my first time writing on any forum.

I dismounted completely Yamaha XA1200AZ and remounted as described in the service manual (Waverunner XLT1200).

He managed a piston and some wires (trim control) and I did a thorough cleaning of everything.

Now the pwc turns well. From the moment the power button is pressed.

But when I accelerate, the engine keeps accelerating. And when I press the red button, the motor is on. And when I extract the lanyard, the engine is still on. He stopped after 20-30 seconds.

Is it a failure of electricity or carburetor?

    Or is it both?

    I would appreciate your help.

    Best regards.

lean condition, carb rebuild is in order, and crank seals do the same thing, leaking air and causing a lean run

    Thanks for the replies.

In the butt put a screw missing. Now no smoke from the engine. Just for the exhaust.

I have not accelerated at all, but I notice that when I accelerate a bit and lost the trigger, slowly lower rpm. But not the trigger, the trigger back into place quickly.

+1 on runaway lean condition. If it runs away on you and you cannot stop it either pull the choke to kill it or just mash the throttle all the way down if you do not have choke and it will kill it

If you pull the lanyard or press the red button on the kill switch then you have an electrical problem in your handlebar switch.

No. I do not think it's electrical problem.

Me just happened once, when it reached very high speeds, stopped 30 seconds after pressing the button. Other times off well.

    Thanks!

    I think it's carburetion problem.

Starts with high rpm. And as I touch the throttle a little, it revolutionizes too.

Already checked the throttle cable and is unstressed.

    What else can I look?

Look uner the midshaft cover at the rear where there is a black rubber seal on the rear of the motor on center. Is the rubber seal flush with the motkr or tilted out? If tilted, you have blown a rear oil seal and air is leaking in there. This will burn your rear piston up quickly.
