    Just bought a 2009 FZS.

I might be an idiot but for the first time, I've bought a ski without riding it first.
Tomorrow I'm picking it up, I know GPR's pretty well but this is my first 4 stroke.
I've been reading around the 4 stroke forums all morning.

Any tips of things to look at? Has around 55 hours on it. It's a solid price so I couldn't pass it up.

Congrats, but check the oil color and overall cleanliness of hull and engine bay. When you turn off the ski, should still hear the supercharger clutch spinning. Check the usual cables and also the impeller/ wear ring for right clearance. Check the hull and the bottom for gouges. If possible to at least run on the hose to check for leaks. Still a gamble though with no water test.

    Thanks guys!

I'll will have a chance to ride it. So that should give me a good idea, then loading it on the trailer, I'll be able to see the bottom. It has 55hrs. $7K. Won it on eBay.

I figure for $7K I'm not too bad off. There aren't shit for FZS skis for sale around here.

His eBay auction only had one picture. Didn't respond to requests for more pictures.
I said screw it, I bid on it. If I showed up and it wasn't as described, I would have left.
    ebay link here

Once I got there and looked it over, then rode it, I was happy.

Has some bumps and sun fade on the gunwhale here and there but a really solid ski. Ran great. I figure for $7K, it has 53hrs and is fresh water, mint trailer, lift dock and cover, I'll fix whatever could be wrong with it.

I'll have the lift sold by next weekend for at least $500. They go fast out here.

The 2009 FZS came in red or black. The 2009 FZR was blue only.
