The original OEM Ficht TPS were the potentiometer type with a wiper arm traveling around a circular resistor.
The originals tended to fail with engine vibration, moisture and time. Engine symptoms when the TPS fails varies.
The newer pigtail TPS design uses a Hall Effect electronic sensor and a rotating magnet. These cannot be tested using an ohmmeter.
The latest updated TPS 2202740 pigtail version is supposed to be much better sealed and should last longer. I think Jay L. was involved in providing feedback to Polaris/Honeywell prior to the last production run.
For Polaris Ficht TPS, new old stock is not the same as actual bra,nd new, even if the part number is the same. Buy new TPS from an authorized Polaris OEM parts source. This ensures you are getting the latest version.
