Sea Doo RXP 215 Turbocharged misfire on 3rd cylinder, clueless about why...

    Hi guys!

So, I'm having quite a bit trouble with my 2008er RXP Turbocharged, and may the more expert guys in here have some advice:

I run it 1 week ago for a couple of hours with friends, with 0 issues, it rev up to 7.000-8.000rpm full power all was fine till the end of the day when suddently the machine started to run rough and wouldn't rev higher than 4.500RPM.

Once out of the sea and cleaned, I removed the spark Plugs and the 3rd one was wet, 3rd cylinder was not running.

NO error on the dash neither any kind of beep

    What did I do?

Removed all 3 plugs and hit the starter a couple of times
    Changed all 3 plugs
    Checked the coils
    Checked ignition
    Checked compression (9BAR each cylinder)
    Checked inyection

Brang it to water 6 days later (yesterday) and it started to rev slowly from 4.500 to 5.000 all the way up to 7.000RPM, I guess I was burning the rest of fuel which was in the last cylinder (3rd), power was back, but just for a short amount of time

While ridding I noticed that each time I hit the water, turned or whatever power came, power went, at full throttle sometimes it reved up to 7.000rpm then suddently went down again to 5.000rpm.

Finally a long BEEP and engine check light on, PWC turned off and no way to start it again, got back to the haven... left it there for a few minutes, switched it on and was running again now with the MAINT light on when sticking the key in.

Checked compression and the above list all again, and its f***ing the same as last week, there is no apparent issue.

Can it be related to electronic component? some + or - which may is not fitted well and does a bad contact somehwere?

Oil level ok? That puts it in a limp mode.

    Welcome to GH
a turbo on the stock ecu....lol
what do you have for a logger?
the stock ecu could be doing all kinds of crazy stuff like overboost =100%DS
or knock could be doing its thing

Oil level is slight 1mm under top max level, so it's fine for sure i'll check it everyday when taking it out to sea.

Well the engine has 40hours of use, it's new... just spent the cash for buying it, haven taxes here in Spain, insurance, etc. etc. I wasn't thinking yet about swtiching to a aftermarket ECU but may, and regarding all the info it would be a good starting point to avoid possible future problems.

Actually checked the ohm resistance and it was fine. When I switch coils in between cylinders, the problems persists at the same 3rd cylinder.

Symptoms of a leaking intercooler, pressure test it.

    leaky injector?

Swap the coil to another cyl (2nd), swap the injector to another different cyl 1 st).

Then see what happens and report back.

ok sorry if I sounded rude
but there is a HUGE difference in a stock supercharged ski and a TURBO ski

water leaking from the internal intercooler is most likely to go in cyl 3
water can also destroy some intake air sensors
