Wave Raider 700 Pump Shaft Not Spinning

So I was riding with friends this weekend and his 700 WR quit at him at full throttle. The engine is still running, but the shaft is not spinning. This is an obvious fix for those who know PWC's, but since Im new, Im gonna lost at what it can be. When you look down in the engine bay, the shaft is not spinning (or so they told me. I didnt have a chance to look at it, due to my 760 being out of commission). Is this an easy fix? Expensive? Send me in the right direction here Greenhulk!

Something is stripped somewhere. Pull the pump, it will come out with the driveshaft and probably need some help with a block of wood or deadblow hammer.

Sounds good. They are towing it home next weekend so I will check it out then. Does the pump come out without the removal of the engine?

Yes, remove the ride plate, unhook steering and trim cables (quick release), unhook water lines, unbolt 4 bolts going up into hull. Should then slide backwards. I just pulled the one off our GP1200 and had to drive the pump backwards with a block of wood. Sometimes the driveshaft splines stick inside the midshaft.

How will it come off with the front attached to engine still?

The engine coupler feeds a midshaft. It's just a short stub shaft with a female output side. The driveshaft to the pump just slides into that part. Now if that midshaft is stripped you would most likely have to pull gas tank and move motor forward at a minumum to gain enough room to pull that booger.

So yesterday they sent me this picture of the obvious problem.

My question is, what caused this? That motor mount looks a little wonky there. Maybe that broke? I haven't seen this in person so I'm just trying to be prepared as to what it could be.

That looks as if either the motor mounts broke or the bolts came loose from the motor mounts. Either way the engine slid forward allot.

There is no way the pump could have moved backwards right? I'd like to help him get back on the water ASAP since he is one of my riding buddies.
