    2014 Yamaha trim setup

Ok guys.... Here is a question I have been wondering about. My 2014 FZS has the manual style trim where you pull the lever and rotate the grip to trim up or down. The only way to trim the unit is power off. Isn't that kinda stupid???? Nobody ever wants to trim different under power? The Sea doo and Kawi have electric trim which can be adjusted at any time. My Ski seems to be best with the trim all the way up in most conditions anyway.
Just seems kinda cheesy for a $15,000 jet ski. Hell when I am in my boat I always trim at different speeds or power settings, I don't have to pull the power to idle to change it. This is one thing I hate about my Yamaha. What does everyone else think? I have not seen any complaints.

Install a R&D VTS cam. It lessens the effort.

    Yep...
I shouldn't have to install that on a top of the line $15,000 ski. The RXP-X keeps looking more and more attractive,

I had electric trim on my ol SD XP. Sure it was nice to just touch a button to trim out but... with the manual trim you're not fumbling around hunting for that sweet spot that it's the fastest at. Also a cable is a hell of a lot cheaper to replace than a trim motor and lighter. Soon as the bow starts dropping I have mine trimmed and gone. What gets me is the ski doesn't need extreme trim angle deflection. So why???

There's a reason everyone goes to manual trim for racing..

OP: just release the throttle for a fraction of a second and adjust the trim. It takes maybe half a second total to do.

It's a $30 part that takes less than an hour to install. It's not mandatory but the trim adjustment points are better with the R&D cam IMO.

Yep, can be done in a split second!

    Yep...
if I am at full throttle and let off the gas it about throws me over the bars it stops so fast. Lol!
I can then adjust when I go from 80mph to 40 then go again? I don't get it? I am sure you guys know more than me since I am new to jet ski's this year. I just think it is plain stupid to have to let off the throttle to adjust trim. I will try that next time I want to race someone in my Baja boat, when I need to trim up for speed I will just let off the gas, trim then go again... Just doesn't work like that.
