2012 Yamaha FX Sho - Maximum Safe Engine Temperature

I have a 2012 Yamaha FX Sho with the 1.8L engine.

I have an Athena ECU with the Riva Stage 2 map. I have after market cooling upgrades installed on my ski.

My question is does anyone know the maximum safe engine temperature for my ski?

Also, where should I be reading the engine temperature?

I have a laser temperature gun.

On the top of the engine block towards the rear of the ski the gun reads temperatures up to 160 and on the top of the engine block towards the front of the ski the gun reads temperatures up to 220.

Am I checking the temperatures in the right places?

    Thanks!

    Jay

180* to 200* but R&D says after 150* power starts to drop off
