    1996 Polaris SLX 780 Part Out

    am parting out my 1996 Polaris SLX 780. It just recently developed a rod knock and quit running (while at idle, so doubt any major damage). I am not going to fix the engine, but it has a bunch of good parts on it that would help someone get theirs back up and running.

    Steering Cable (just bought it last year) - $50.00

    ECU ignition box (complete box with spark plug wires) $150.00

    I would do $200.00 for ALL the electrical wires. That would be trim unit, CDI box, charging system and ignition pickup, kill switch and trim unit on handlebars... everything except the MFD which is broke.

    Jet Pump (complete from turn cup to impeller. Just rebuilt with new bearings and seals) - $150.00

    Carb Assembly (carbs are in great shape but i'd put a rebuild kit in to make perfect) - $50.00
    Seat (in decent shape, with a small rip in the bottom corner. Needs a cover) - $30.00

    Trailer - i'm asking $300.00 for the trailer. It has brand new tires/rims and bearings. In perfect condition for light 2 stroke jetskis. Has torn carpet on boards, but can be restapled. Trailer lights work perfect. Has spare tire.

    Everything worked perfect until the engine quit, so everything is in great working order, except for the MFD (lcd gauge unit) which failed early this year. (filled up with rain water).

    Everything is OBO, but don't make offers that are crazy cheap.

    You can see in the video that it has no salt water damage. This was a fresh water ski its whole life.
    That white stuff on top of the ignition box is Comet (scrubbing powder). My girlfriend wanted to clean up my ski before we rode it last time. I told her the dirt was holding it together! LOL It broke that trip! hahaha

    I'm glad to part this one out. I've needed parts for my other projects and have used parts from other's before.
    I'm not out to make a killing on these parts which is why the prices are cheap. I just want to help someone save their project. Kinda like an organ donor.

    Had a question...
    Someone is asking to buy just the title from me.
    I don't know if I can sell the title without signing over the hull. It could be considered stolen and I'd be held liable for theft. All they would have to do is call the cops and say I have their jetski in my backyard.
    Would it be wise to sell the hull with title after I get all the parts off?
    Or would you ever sell a title without having the person take the entire craft?

    Hull goes with the title. Let them come and dispose of it how they please. Write up a bill of sale as well indicating make model and HID number. You should never remove the HID plates and sell them with the title.

    The 1996 SLX didn't have an air box. It had individual k&n style filters on each carb. See thie video in the first post.
