    Plug Readings w/pics?

Hi, I have a Yamaha 1100 (wave venture). I built the motor from the crank up. The only thing it has other than stock is boyesen reeds. I put about five hrs. on the motor now and it runs excellent.

I'm running all stock jets and set low and hi needles to service manual spec plus a 1/4 turn out.

After last time out ran 10 gallons thru it at mid to full throttle most of the time.

I'm running quick silver syn blend at 40:1

Here are pics of the plugs... I want to make sure I'm not on the path to burning this thing up.

The plugs are lined up left to right 1-2-3. and when I'm holding them up it's first thru third.

Let me know what you think - too lean, too rich or just right?

    Notice the center plug.

Cool, thanks. I'm just a little spooked because they are so light but I am new to PWC.

Big question when did you pull those plugs? Should be a good wide open throttle run and cut the power off and then check them. If this was ridden idled to the dock and so on then put on the trailer, then checked, its basically a false reading of the plugs.

Actually I was ripping around doing 180's and such and ran out of gas abruptly. Wouldn't re-fire so swam it to the dock and loaded it.

But anyway, I used to use the technique you mention with my old 2-stroke bikes. Regardless, after 10 gallons of gas the plugs will give a general reading of how the motor is running using the method you suggest or not.

This isn't a highly tuned race boat here it's just a stock 1100.

A lot of times plug reading is questionable at best. For five hours they look pretty good. It takes a while to develop the color around the lower metal ring on the bottom.

Its running great and you have a nice color on the plugs = dont touch anything, imo. Completely rebuilt two gpr 1200 this winter and went through same thing this spring with plug readings. Mine were pretty much same color as yours and they ran great. 15 hours later everything is still great and i havent touched anything. Hope this helps ease your mind, cause ive been there

Just bought a 760 wave venture over the weekend, plugs looked just like that. Runs great for having sat over a year.....gotta rebuild carbs though. I just test ran it.
