I hope you put some lock tite on the threads of the stub shaft.

You mean the antiseize lubricant on the impeller shaft? If so, I don't recall seeing Chris do that! Probably because we didn't have any in his emergency kit.

The impeller threads onto the stub shaft (unless it's a different setup for seadoo). Blue lock tite is suspposed to be used to keep the impeller from spinning off.

The direction of spin tightens the impeller onto the shaft on Sea-Doos. That's why it's recommended to use Antiseize Lubricant (Loctite 767), if you ever want to get your impeller off again.

That's awesome if it spins that way. I wish the Polaris engineers were that smart. I didn't lock tite mine and it came off. Luckily I caught it and put lock tite on and all is well.

    Cool vid BTW

This is my RXP and I was the guy riding it when it sucked up a rock pulling in to a beach, been riding for lots of years and only had this happen a few times I should have known better. After the beach incident the ski had a slight vibration around 6K and up and it was cavitating a bit under hard acceleration the ski had another two weeks lake duty to do so I figured a redneck repair job was in order. I had all the tools except locktite which a fellow Doo owner had in his tool box. This impeller will get a trip to Impros over the winter.

For next year I am going to get an old trailer hitch remove the ball and weld an impeller tool on. This way I can put the hitch in the truck receiver and have a sturdy way to hold the impeller and pump if needed.
