    2014 Yamaha FZS Issue

    Hello friends,

I recently purchased a 14 Yamaha FZS in June. It currently has about 38 hours. A couple days ago I was riding the ski at full throttle. It then just dropped down to 40mph not passing 5k RPM. No warning lighs came on. I checked under the ski when I pulled it out on the trailer. Nothing was caught in the grate or impeller.

Wondering what could be wrong. I have an appointment for tomorrow. But I just really want to ride today!! Lol.

    Any ideas?

Check your muffler connections. You might have a loose hose clamp.

Thank you. I'll give that a shot.

Check all the clamps and hoses going from supercharger to intercooler and intercooler to intake.

In fact, check every clamp from the air box, to the rear outlet. Get a 1/4 wrench and the correct size socket, there should be 2 or 3 different sizes. Dont use a screw driver, becasue you wont get those boot lines tight enough no matter how hard you try. Make sure they are all nice and tight, reach your hand under the intake manifold and find the TB and make sure the few clamps down there are all tight as well. one little air leak somewhere will cause issues. Be sure to post up what you find.

Does sound like it blew a hose off.

Remove the air filter hose from the supercharger and see if you can spin the supercharger wheel in both directions if it spins both ways then your supercharger clutch is bad! DO THIS TEST ONLY WITH THE ENGINE OFF! Tommy Jordan

Yes don't check the SC with the engine running. Just ask my boss what happens to fingers when they come in contact with a spinning compressor wheel. Give you an idea...he won't be hitch hiking with his left thumb.

I checked all hoes and cables. Looks normal. Do you think Spark plugs can be an issue ? Or doesn't sound like a spark plug issue ?
