    Replacing Keihin carb with Mikuni?

heres my dilemma, 2000 Polaris virage 700, got a keihin cdk2 carb. the internal fuel filter was clogged, so while apart, I decided to rebuild. ordered all the parts from sbt, kits and a replacement needle and seat. after removing the old seat, and doing some research, found out that the seats are not replaceable. I was told that you have to order the complete jet block. well, jet blocks are obsolete and I cannot find one. (sbt still claims that the seats are replaceable, but cannot tell me how to do it, go figure?) so my question being, has anyone replaced the keihin with a mikuni and if so, what size, jetting, etc., I have been down for several weeks now and would like to get going before the season is over, thanks

if anyone knows the proper procedure for replacing a seat, please share. I contacted keihin directly and was told it cant be done. so?

i've done plenty of them, switched out a bunch of 42mm race keihens to a 2.0 seat when they came stock with a 1.8.the trick is to press the replaceent one in far enough to seal right but not so far as to crush the o-ring on it,i wouldn't worry about replacing the stock seat, its brass and almost never has an issue with it,the needles the one that wears.

Great info!!!!! I have never seen that before. I might have to try that on a carb I have with a stripped out bolt hole.
