Gallery: Hydro-Turf Pro Watercross Tour – Round 5 Lake Hartwell, GA
[Editor's note: the unique format between Editor-in-Chief Kevin Shaw and Anna Glennon is to provide multiple points of view from possibly one of the most exciting and upsetting rounds of the Hydro-Turf Pro Watercross Tour.]
Kevin: Steely gray clouds loomed low overhead Friday morning. While inconsistent downpours and thundering lightning strikes rained down from above, their ominous presence signaled much worse than just undesirable weather. Short bouts of mid-summer storming quickly muddied the ochre banks of Georgia’s Lake Hartwell, spattering riders and their equipment in the earthy red hue.
Yet, it wouldn’t be threats from Mother Nature that upset this weekend’s fifth round of the Hydro-Turf Pro Watercross Tour. Georgia’s penultimate “Wet ‘n Wild” round welcomed a slew of dark horse competitors to the line. Not only did these wild cards upturn the outcome of each moto, but heavily askew the final overall points standings. Lake Hartwell signaled a major shift in the leadership of several classes, leaving some bereft and others elated.

Of course! Thanks for the kind words and support of the magazine. Oh, and great job representing Kawasaki. Not too shabby for a salty old man. :P
