    For those that have put a IC, how those this work?

    Hi All,
    I am planning on finally installing a IC on a 185 GTX, I was planning on using the Opas water supply since I took them off, but I saw this member just T the water line and dump it out the back, how efficient will this be? any issues with it or should I just got with the Opas route? this way just seem like is super easy, I assume its just a 3/4 T needed.

    If you are going to T the water line I would not dump it out the back. I would redirect it to wherever it was going in the first place. That way the system is getting the same amount of water that it always has been.

    What does the OPAS water do anyway??? Just keep the tubes clean???

    Why "T" anything? Just take the feed from the pump thats going to the exhaust manifold now.
    Put that to the input of the IC, then the output of the IC to the input of the exhaust manifold.
    Done.

    yup thats what I have been reading and will like to avoid, I think I am just going to do the opas route and leave the cooling system separate

    He is running a strainer. I have run that way for 5 years, never a problem

    a strainer can and will clog up restricting water flow
    every lake and rider is different so some may go years without a clog
    or a month like I did last week

    IMO you can use the opra water for the IC and you could not strain the exhaust cooling water

    The OPAS source is a T on top of the tunnel, which requires you to combine the two lines into 1. Then I go to the strainer, then to the IC. You have to add an exit for the IC and for the pisser line on the pump shoe housing.

    This configuration has been working for many years for me.
