    Wetsuits...

For those of us who wear a wetsuit...People of the south no need to chime in with any smart A$$ comments about how good and warm your weather is.(this goes double for any RECENT people who have relocated to Florida)

    You know who you are..

I have been using the slippery brand of suit since I started skiing. I am 6ft tall and 180. so far every suit I have had as ripped or come apart at the seams(..at the same place right where the zipper starts waist level.. I thought it might be the salt water or perhaps maybe the wetsuit shampoo or deodorizer that I use...

I'm just curious if anyone else has dealt with this.. I have an old Dacor(I think) wetsuit from diving... I should give that a try.

I think i did that to a suit from pulling too hard on the zipper

I was thinking that too... I'm going to give this one the rest of this season and during the winter shop for another brand. perhaps a better one or maybe even one of those "semi dry suits" they are great for late fall and early spring riding..

It is repairable. I repaired mine. They make some adhesives that work great.

I'm about the same build as you and wear an oneill reactor 3/2 in L and an oneill mutant 5/4 in XL. I only wash them down with fresh water and air dry. Both going on 2nd season with no issues.

I had an O'neil suit I used for surfing in the winter even here in South Carolina it still gets below freezing temps sometimes and water temps drop in to the 40's and 50's don't get me wrong nothing like what you guys up north deal with. My O'neil suit ripped in the same spot in the second year of use. I have had a Rip Curl 3/2 suit since then no problems this will be its 7th season no issues.

I've taken the wetsuit plunge this year and picked up a Quicksilver Syncro 3/2mm for Wisconsin - Lake Michigan waters.
I'm 6'2" , 170# and purchased a size MT ( Medium and Tall ) It was from wetsuitwearhouse.
Proper size is important as well as proper "zipping" technique. I've always held the bottom of the zipper with one hand while pulling the zip cord straight up with the other hand. Pulling on the zipper should not shift the zipper up but rather just zip it up. Just a suggestion here for the possible ripping at the bottom of the zipper ?
