    FX HO Cam Belt Tensioner

I see in the service manual that there is a tensioner for the camshaft belt. It looks to NOT be a pully tensioner, but some sort of long slider affair on which the belt rubs. Is this actually the case??? Any of you guys had this thing exposed.

Does the belt really silde/rub against something? Gee maybe this is where the whining of the FX's comes from.

Also, how do I know if my belt is tensioned the correct amount.

It is a timing chain not belt. What you are seeing is the guides in which the chain rides.

It adjusts automatically. So you don't have to worry.

Like said before its a chain with sliders against it to take up any slack.
