    oil restricter in block?

In doing some searches I see that the pre '06 engine blocks have some kind of oil restricter in place. I'm looking for a used block for my rebuild but apparantly they are all the same part numbers for all years and HP ratings. I have an 05 and want to make sure I go with the right set up, whether it be add the part or update to the newer rocker shaft. Anybody have a photo or tell me what it looks like or where it is located?

Dont worry about it, just get whatever block you can find and use the right parts with it to make it work. If you end up finding a 2006+ block, you will simply need to use a 2006+ rocker shaft, and drill a 1/2" hole behind the counterbalancer gear area. There are a number of threads on here about this topic.

ok, let me ask it this way, if I find a used block, how can I tell by looking at it what year it is or if it has the restricter? as an example, in looking at craigslist and ebay, none of them list part numbers or years, they just list engine cases for sale.
