    NGK Iridium Spark Plugs

I'm making a sprak plugs change on my RXT-X 260 and was wondering if anyone tried NGK Iridum Spark Plugs on their SeaDoo. I've used them in my car and they worked great, but never tried them on my ski.

Yes they work great in a car, last long. However, on our skis plugs are subjected to IC water condensation spray, humid salty air and in some cases some salt mist from ocean riding. Any plug can degrade around that environment - from a cheap $2 spark plug to $20 spark plug.

For me, the regular NGK DCPR8E get changed at every oil change. Cheap, proven and no need to re-invent the wheel.

Denso has a direct fit iridium spark plug with the removal top terminal:

    IXU24 stock #5309

and 2 heat range colder plug (next available heat range)

IXU27 (I use this plug), stock # 5337. They are more expense than the stock plugs. I paid $56 for 4 plugs at AutoZone.

Complete waste of time and money. You end up changing them as often as the stock plugs.

This is my first time changing the spark plugs on my own, so is there something specific to be done or it's just a simple remove the old and put the new?

You will probably have to remove the small cap as in the pic. You may also want to check the gap. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, but I have never found one that was not gapped correctly.

Sorry if my question is stupid, but dealing with this type of things is not my strongest point. What do you mean by the gap? Also, that cap has to be remove on every type of spark? Thanks.
