    Tune question 2013 fzr

So I was looking at the 4 tec performance website and came across the tunes for my 2013 fzr
I saw the v-tech stage 1 that claims 240hp for a completely stock ski. What are the pros and cons of this? Is it worth it? Can a dealer see the reflash? Any help would be great.

Go with the reflash you wont regret it, is the best bang for the buck, nice gain from holeshot to top speed and less fuel consumption at cruise speed.

A reflash is great. Really opens up the ski and raises RPM limit. More RPM= More power. I think it's safe to say if your going to reprogram the ECU you can kiss your warranty goodbye. Cheaper to go with R&D reprogram service than to pay $1000+ for Vtech tuner and tuning credit. Lots of yamaha guys love the R&D programs and I also run the R&D on my Seadoo. I know on the Vtech you can flash back to stock if need be. If you have any doubts contact your dealer. Supporting mods need to be installed after reflash service to really optimize the tune and ensure proper cooling.

So would a riva stage 1 be better? With just the bolt on parts?

I would just go with r&d R3 reflash, once you do more mods you will end up with it anyway. My stock fxsho picked up 3.5 mph with just reflash and my fz has an r3 as well and it runs 83mph with its supporting mods. once you start modifying your warranty will be gone anyway.

very nice! Now did it just pick up 3.5 Mph up top or did it pick up power throughout the whole rpm range? Did it leave harder from a stop?

It was better throughout the whole rpm range.
