    shaved GP1300R HEAD

    I have a stock 2005 GP1300R that has disappointing low end ( holeshot ) . i bought a shaved head that can use our weak Ca 91 octane pump gas in the hope it can help but i have not yet put it on. I wonder if this alone ( plus the richer setting from the fuel injectors ) will have any noticeable improvement. I know the lack of powervalves is probably an issue that lowers low and midrange power, and i want to keep the mods to something i can use pump gas for.

    More compression will definitely help. Do you have a 13/19 Dynafly impeller? Is the pump sealed? Also a Jetworks holeshot mod will give a nice boost out of the hole.

    yes i have the pump seal kit installed already but not the holeshot mod.

    The pump seal kit is only part of the solution, you have to seal/epoxy the space between the shoe and the transom plate. That gap will hold air and allow cavitation on take off. And also at the bottom where the shoe fits up to the transom plate there is a gap that was filled with a felt like material when new, that has to be sealed too.
