How Far Can You Go Without Shrinkage?
How far can you typically re-pitch a prop (increase the trailing edges) before encountering shrinking of the outer edge of the blades? And would anything excessive make a difference in the performance or cavitation?
Have a 15/20 main for twins that I may need to re-pitch closer to a 15/24, but wondering if that would be too much & I would just be better off ordering a new prop?

I try to never go more than 2 pitches from what the original pitch is on the main prop. TIP: Try to re pitch the inducer prop taller some it will reduce the rpms some also if you open up tha main prop leading edge some it will drop the rpms some also, Tommy Jordan

Thank you for the input. I did not even think about also tweaking the inducer. Hopefully that can help with pulling some more revs down, so I won't need to bend the main quite as much to get the RPM's where I need to be.
If I end up keeping/building the SHO - I plan on running the RPM's a bit more mild, to just ride & enjoy!

It tastes like Chicken.
Since the new 2015 VXR/S have answered my prayers with the ideal clutch free wave jumping/play/guest ski, my goals have changed.
As opposed to having a screaming fast SHO, I am going to turn things down a notch to try and keep my cases & clutches intact. If the SHO sells here in the next week or two, then I will pick up a '15 SVHO & do a basic 80ish build. If no one comes through, then it will just be cheaper to keep her (the SHO). And I will do a somewhat mild build, working with what I've got.
But either way a shiny new VXR/S will be on the menu this Spring!!
