    Bad Reeds on xl1200

Well Fu**, Everyone said I had symptoms of dirty carbs. I have 2 holes on my center cylinder reeds and a few burn marks on the other ones but no holes, Should I replace all of my reeds or just those 2 with the cracks? I also already ordered a rebuild kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRIPLE-MIKUN...p2054897.l4275, Should I still clean and rebuild my carbs?

Buy new Yamaha reeds at the OEM parts store listed above, rebuild the cars to catch any dirty filters/jets/passages before hurting your engine. If you chose to not remove the caps over the low and high speed screws, at least spray carb cleaner thru the jets and passages in the throttle body, and compressed air also. If you do remove the caps, be careful when you drill them, you can go too far and hit the screw, which will turn it and you will not know how far out it was turned at the factory. If you are uncomfortable working on them, contact WFO here and get a price on him rebuilding them for you.
