N/A flywheel for turbo set up

    Hey all,

Considering putting a N/A flywheel on my soon to be turbo set up (TX 260) I'm thinking I don't need the charger flywheel for it and could put it into my 185 Gtx. Anybody used a N/A flywheel for thier turbo set up before?

    Cheers

    Pete

That's what I thought..... I'm trying my best to get it going, bloody work and a funder (lack of) keep slowing me down. Was about to put my arp flywheel bolts in it when u thought about this whole flywheel thing.

Yeah use the NA fly wheel with arp bolts ...

you may look at getting the crank balanced as it will be balanced from factory with SC flywheel ???

I would love to bup i don't want to tear the bottom end apart just yet. Would there be any special balancing done from factory to suit the Sc flywheel that will be out of sink with a different flywheel, I wouldn't think so but just trying to cover all angles.

    Cheers

You should get it balanced if you're changing flywheel . What other mods do you have to support the turbo ? If you have stock pistons I wouldn't go over 18psi maybe less . What ecu ? What size turbo are you using ? The last thing you want to do is blow it up .

Mmmmm. Maybe i will just leave it then. Until the day comes when i have to tear the motor down.

I never intended to go over 18 psi. Just wanted a decent performance gain without having to worry about superchargers or flywheels failing.

    I will be running a GTX 2863R.
Ecu will be V tech plus the data logging (yes i know its not a motec, i know a motec is better, but right now i dont really have the $ for a motec. Maybe later down the track. They do have a turbo map to suit the bosch ecu's so i will use that and gently fine tune it with the data logging and auto tune)
AFR sensor in turbo down pipe
    VT1100 injectors
    Walbro 255lph fuel pump
    Upgraded valve springs and retainers
I will be using a 2006 waterbox (not modified at this stage)
    Riva rear exhaust
    Turbosmart BOV
    K&N air filter

I think thats everything.....there is a bit of question mark in regards to prop, not sure which one yet.

    Any opinions are welcome
