Every rider has a little different process, some don't have any. The engine's computer regulates the power output for the first 5-10 hours. I just vary the throttle, do an occasional full throttle pull and don't hold it open for more than a few seconds. Your owners manual has guidelines also. Also make sure to check the engine oil level after each ride. Good luck!

If you ride in salt water, then I would definitely wash the motor off after every ride.

Grab your owner's manual and a cup of coffee, head to your favorite "thinking" spot and read up!!!

Manual is sparse on the break in, I looked at a Yamaha supercharged manual for its break in instructions, think fx sho was the only one I could find, it had much more specific instructions in terms of revs and time but only for the first 2.5 hours or so.

In addition I varied the revs as frequently as I could, did some full throttle accelerations for a few seconds. Averaged a little higher than I would have wanted in terms of speeds but we're riding in groups only, what are you going to do

As I'm sure you have noticed its a controversial and personal matter for most.

Just ended my last ride at 10 hours, look forward not worrying anymore about it!
