2013 GTR 215 w Check Engine warning throwing P0545 code

Hey guys. Wanted to quickly run this by some of the experienced folks here. Have a pretty new 2013 GTR 215 with 19 hours. Other day got in a bit of muck for about 20 seconds and the alarm went off, engine light came on and check engine message scrolling on gauge. Shut her down, got her in a better place, started back up and got same alarm, light, message combo. No limp mode. Would switch into Sport and back. No change in performance. Running absolutely fine but still throwing code and alarm. Out of the water, flushing it out, start it up, same thing. Did the same today in driveway as not a chance she is warm let alone hot and same thing. I know the P0545 error is an Exhaust gas temperature switch shorted to ground. Possibly a bad sensor I guess? Any suggestions before I bring it to the shop and miss out this Labor Day weekend? While running completely fine concerned about running w code and jeopardizing warranty or anything like that.

    Thanks,

    Keith

most dealers stock the $60 sensor
it takes about 30 seconds to change
change the sensor and you may be good to go
if not then take it to your stealer

Thanks for the reply Skidoochris. While I am handy, I have no experience with this ski mechanically. Is this difficult to swap out?

    Thanks,

    Keith

    it cant get any easier
find the waterbox outlet and remove the sensor
use 3/4 wrench, it is on the bottom side of the outlet

My RXP did the same thing when my buddy got it in some mud. Changed the sensor and she was fine. What happens? Does the mud foul the sensor?
