Thread: GP1200r DRAMA!

How is everyone!? I purchased my Gp1200r About a month ago or so (first jet ski ever) . Carbs were crap and i rebuilt them. Third time on the water and boom center cylinder PV FAILS!. Sourced another OEM 80HR motor and swapped it in, Introduced it to Wave Eater Clips! Ran it for a good 2 hours on and off throttle, changing throttle positions all the time since the motor was sitting for a bit didnt want to romp on it right away. Motor Is Great and im very pleased with it.
NOW! the issue is when full throttle reaching higher speeds the front of the ski drops into the water like if i let off the gas or something and the ass end gets very loose. Rpms are still up but instead of skipping across the water its digging through it.... I took a video of my buddy riding the ski hopefully you guys can see what im seeing. he let off the throttle right after since he wasnt expecting it. its kind of tough at the angle but here it goes!
Please let me know if anyone has had issues with this and what the fix can be and THANK YOU!

Order a Riva or R&D 1200 grate. The stock grate is known to stuff the pump.

You do not want to keep a stock grate on there if you go any faster than stock, it will pitch you right off. Been there, hurts too.

Yeah I don't plan to keep the grate, plate or tabs stock. But i just installed the motor, And don't want to spend to much on handling issues till I know the motor will be good. Id say in about a month or so I'll swap the complete underside of the ski.
